How to record a donation that was made outside of MemberDrive

How to record a manual donation

Sometimes a donor will give you a donation in person, by check, or through another method that doesn't involve MemberDrive. You can still record these donations in MemberDrive so that they show up in your reports and your donor's history. Here's how:

  1. First, login to MemberDrive.
  2. Navigate to your organization's page
    1. Click on your profile icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
    2. Click My Organizations
    3. Scroll down until you see your organization listed under Admin Organizations
    4. Click Dashboard

After you're logged in, there are two ways to record a new donation:

For a brand-new member

  1. Click Payments in the left-hand navigation.
  2. Click New Payment in the search bar.
  3. Enter the member's name, address, and other information.
  4. Enter the amount, date of the donation, and check number, if applicable.
  5. Choose a campaign to apply the donation.
  6. Enter any internal notes (these will not be visible to the donor).
  7. Choose a status. In most cases, you can leave this as Paid.
  8. Click Save Payment

For an existing donor

  1. Click Members in the left-hand navigation.
  2. Enter the member's name (or part of their name) in the search bar.
  3. Click on the member's name.
  4. If you need to update their contact information, click Update member and enter the updated information.
  5. Click New Payment
  6. Enter the amount, date of the donation, and check number, if applicable.
  7. Choose a campaign to apply the donation.
  8. Enter any internal notes (these will not be visible to the donor).
  9. Choose a status. In most cases, you can leave this as Paid.
  10. Click Save Payment
