Tyler Diocese Approves SJTW Building Project
Sep 9, 2024
St. Joseph the Worker Parish Team
Capital Campaign Phase One
We are pleased to announce that we have received approval from the Diocese of Tyler to proceed with our building project! Below is the text of the letter that we received following our meeting with the diocesan building committee.
Thank you for meeting with our Project Committee on August 22 at the Chancery. We commend you and your committee for the thorough and prudent approach you are taking to this project.
Based on the site plans, schematics, and preliminary budget presented, the diocese is pleased to authorize you to work with your architect to prepare construction documents, including final plans and detailed specifications (architectural, construction, structural, electrical, mechanical, civil, and service-connected equipment) for the project.
At the completion of this phase, we ask you to meet again with our project committee to review the construction documents and the latest estimate of construction cost.
Please know that you and your community continue to enjoy the full encouragement and support of the diocese, and we look forward to working with you as we move forward.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Very Rev. John Gomez
Delegate of the Apostolic Administrator
Phase 1
Phase 1 of our building plan will be a temporary church building that will meet the immediate needs of our rapidly growing parish community. This building will eventually become our parish hall after the final church is built. In the meantime, it will accommodate 348 attendees per mass - more than three times the current church.
We hope to be moving in to our new church building this time next year.
Through God's favor and your generosity we've already raised over half of our $3m goal. Your financial support is key to helping us meet this goal. Please consider making a pledge or recurring donation today!
