We often don't have much of a clue when God chooses to place a dream in our hearts and minds, or a call upon our lives. Such was the case when our daughter Carly while she was in college. She had an opportunity to go back to Haiti on a short term medical mission (she was majoring in college in Psychology and Business) to help missionary doctor Steve James. She is seen here listening to the heart of a little boy in the Bas Limbe area of North Haiti. This little boy was born with his heart outside his chest cavity - a very rare condition. After that trip to Haiti, Carly began to think about working in the medical field. She later graduated from UCLA with a MSRN and has spent the past ten years gaining experience in a hospital in Los Angeles.
